At your child's first lesson, you can expect a couple things. First off, there is never a charge for the trial lesson. If your child doesn't like it, you've lost no money, just 15-30 minutes of your time. We mostly just focus on registration and going over policies and what to expect. If your child is transferring from another teacher, please bring their current books so I can evaluate their progress. At the end of the lesson, we'll have a time for questions and answers. 

At the second lesson, I will have their books ready for them. They will also get a set of flashcards and a folder to keep all their supplementary music and activity sheets in. Then I teach them to play the first couple songs reinforcing the previous concepts. They'll be given about two or three songs to practice at home, as well as an activity to do. Once again, I'll go over  everything after the lesson to be sure you know what's going on. 

At a typical lesson, we'll start off with theory or activity sheets to review previous concepts. We may even play a game to encourage learning in a fun way! Then we move on to method books. Flashcards are also a part of every lesson. Questions are always encouraged during lessons! Afterwards, I'll give you a summary of what happened in the lesson, as well as let you know what their homework is.
